NOW Senior Management
Jill Deering, CEO
Jill has a professional background in several senior management roles including Human Resources at Sutherland Hospital, as the General Manager at Sydney Cardiology and Sydney Dermatology, in the corporate sector with the Westfield Group and as the CEO for Red Nose Day and Sylvanvale Disability Services.
Once graduating from Sutherland Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Jill travelled to the UK where she gained intensive care experience at Harley Street Clinic. Jill has a postgraduate degree in Health Policy and Management from Wollongong University.
Jill has a strong sense of community and has served on a number of charitable boards and institutions including Hope for the Children, Meals on Wheels, the Community Council at Sutherland Hospital, a Board Member for the South East Sydney Area Health Service, as a local Councillor and Deputy Mayor of the Sutherland Shire and has served on the Board of the Sydney Rotary Club. She is currently a Board Member at Beconnected which is a NFP community service in the Sutherland Shire.
Jill is very aware of the changing landscape in the Aged Care Sector and is keen to work with the Board and staff at Nurses On Wheels to ensure the longevity and success of the organisation.
Whenever Jill gets a minute she likes to spend time with her family and friends both in Sydney and the Southern Highlands, but most of all her two beautiful grandchildren are a major priority.
Martina Willoughby, Nursing Program Manager
Martina has been a Registered Nurse for almost 20 years. She first registered in the Czech Republic, working in theatres for four years. In 2000 she relocated to Australia, where she retrained.
While obtaining her Registered Nursing degree in Australia Martina worked in a rehabilitation ward as an Assistant In Nursing (AIN) and after graduation as a Registered Nurse and Rehabilitation Coordinator.
To accommodate her family needs Martina commenced employment with NOW five years ago, progressing from daily on the road nursing to her current managerial role.
As a Program Manager, Martina supervises NOW’s team of Community Nurses and Day Care program staff to ensure a delivery of client centred care. She is directly involved in grant fund reporting and compliance with objectives outlined by Grant providers. Martina, with the CEO, liaises directly with NOW strategic partners.
Narelle Wild, Quality, Education and Marketing Manager
Narelle is a registered nurse, who has worked with Nurses On Wheels for two years. In 2016 Narelle moved into the role of Quality, Education and Marketing Manager, which involves the delivery of quality improvements and education programs for Nurses at NOW.
Narelle started nursing in 2008, after obtaining her Bachelor of Nursing from University of Western Sydney – Parramatta Campus University. Upon graduation, Narelle participated in a new graduate program at Westmead Hospital, before moving to St George Hospital in 2010, where she worked in in critical care until October 2014 she started at NOW.
Prior to nursing, Narelle worked in a variety of office roles including receptionist and customer service coordinator. Narelle took time off for a while and enjoyed being a mum. During this time she cleaned houses. Whilst studying Narelle worked as a casual AIN at a private mental health facility.
Outside of work, Narelle loves to travel and walk. Narelle and her husband have participated in the city to surf for the last two years and walk every day. Its great for stress.
KAREN HARPER, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER
Karen has had extensive Marketing and Events experience, she has worked for large corporate companies such as Hilton International, Mirvac, Lend Lease and IMB Bank.
Throughout her career, she has met with royalty and rock-stars, athletes and actors.
Karen has a proven track record for business growth, marketing and maintaining on-time and under budget programs through strategic marketing efforts.
She thoroughly enjoy all things outdoors: gardening, walks, kayaking, and picnicking amongst many other things.
ALAN CARTER, FINANCE MANAGER
Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants and Taxation Institute of Australia, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Governance Institute of Australia, Registered Tax Agent and a Chartered Tax Advisor.
Alan has over 45 years’ experience in manufacturing, distribution and aged care and holding senior roles in accounting/finance, supply and general management.
Alan has spent the last nine years in the aged care and home care industries and is currently on the Board of a not-for-profit Aged Care Facility.
Alan has developed extensive knowledge of the aged care industry from a professional and personal experience, recognising the contribution/knowledge of our elder citizens and appreciating the support they deserve for their later years.
Amy Chung supports Alan in the accounting team.
