2017 ITAC Conference report

Jill Deering, Martina Willoughby, Narelle Wild and Jane dos Remedios attended the Information Technology in Aged Care (ITAC) Conference on the Gold Coast, 21-22 November 2017. It was a thought-provoking agenda with a number of speakers who challenged the current aged-care and service delivery model in Australia. Speakers provided a platform to better understand the aged-care market and the challenges NOW and the sector faces in the coming years.

One consistent message throughout the conference was if an organisation does not have the appropriate IT infrastructure and digital patient management, they would have difficulties moving forward. Our move to AlayaCare earlier this year has ensured NOW will be able to face the digital future properly.

In-home technology and remote monitoring will be the future of delivering a comprehensive program for those requiring home-care nursing and must be on all home-health providers' roadmaps.
