New medical equipment funded by Penhurst RSL

Penshurst RSL proudly supports the ClubGrants program. Last year, registered clubs allocated more than $100 million to deserving causes through this is a voluntary scheme. As part of the ClubGRANTS initiative, this year Penshurst RSL donated $5, 700 to Nurses On Wheels to assist in the purchase of new medical equipment and GPS navigation devices.

Nurses On Wheels used this funding is to replace portable and non-portable blood pressure monitors and portable blood sugar testing equipment. This funding will ensure that we can maintain, and possibly increase, our blood pressure testing and blood sugar monitoring to patients in the St George and Sutherland areas.

As our nurses come to you in your homes we need to provide this community based service as efficiently as possible. Therefore we needed to supply our nurses with GPS navigation systems so that they can arrive at their destinations with greater speed and efficiency. This saves time and allows us to see more patients and give much needed care to more patients within our local community.
