Club Central Support new fleet of Vehicles at Nurses On Wheels

Last year, registered clubs allocated more than $100 million to deserving causes through the ClubGRANTS program. This is a voluntary scheme and Club Central is proud to be a part of this important community initiative. As part of Club Centrals ClubGRANTS initiative, this year Club Central donated $57,000 to Nurses On Wheels to assist in the purchasing of 5 new vehicles to replace existing cars and to expand their fleet.

Nurses On Wheels provide in home nursing care 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In 2014 the team of 21 nurses made 29,594 visits to patients in their homes to provide them with much needed home nursing care. The purchase of 5 new vehicles this year and over $153 thousand within the next 4 years from Club Central donations, will assist Nurses On Wheels to increase their number of patient visits to over 30,000 this year.

The aim of Nurses On Wheels is to offer nursing care in a safe and familiar environment for their patients. This enables patients to remain in their own homes for as long as possible and reduce the work load on General Practitioners and additional hospitalisations. The overall results have also shown better health outcomes for these elderly patients. By Club Central providing this extraordinary funding of $153 thousand dollars Nurses On Wheels are able to increase our services in the St George and Sutherland Shire areas.
